If you could have dinner with any fictional character, who would it be?
I feel like my answer to this question changes depending on my mood or whatever I’ve been reading or watching lately. I’ve answered this prompt before with Elizabeth Bennet and Luna Lovegood, but my current answer is Anne Shirley. There will always be a special place in my heart for Anne of Green Gables, the book series and most adaptations.
Specifically, I’d love to have dinner with Anne in Anne of Windy Poplars or Anne’s House of Dreams. In those books she’s in her twenties, right before and just after marrying Gilbert.
There’s something about Anne’s outlook on life that makes me want to spend an evening with her. The conversation would be wonderful, the food and gossip would undoubtedly be entertaining, but more than anything, I’d love to hear her perspective. I especially love seeing how she grows in these books while still holding onto the imagination and warmth that make her so unmistakably Anne.
