From Cold to Toothache

Advertisements

The last few days have been a blur of tissues, tea, and trying to fight off a stubborn cold. This morning, I finally woke up feeling almost human again—no more sore throat or feverish fog. The only lingering souvenirs are a stuffy nose and, oddly enough, ears that feel strangely plugged, like I’ve been on an airplane that never landed.

Of course, just as my cold is fading, a new annoyance shows up: a toothache. I woke up at 3:30 a.m., and by 5:30, after pain meds, melatonin, and a whole lot of wishing, I realized sleep wasn’t going to happen. So here I am, awake for the day much earlier than I’d like, frustrated and uncomfortable.

It’s one of those mornings where your body feels like it’s playing whack-a-mole with symptoms—fix one, and another pops up. I’m hoping this toothache is just a quick detour and not the beginning of something bigger. For now, all I can do is breathe, sip something warm, and ride it out.
