Tomorrow is a super exciting day because my niece turns two! Let me tell you, she’s already embracing the whole “terrible twos” phase—complete with all the sass and volume of a little diva sporting glittery Crocs. Her favorite word? “NO!”—and trust me, she isn’t whispering it. Eren shouts it with passion, even when you’re offering her exactly what she asked for just moments earlier. She’s loud, she’s got opinions, and she definitely knows what she wants.
Like this party!
I had my heart set on an Elmo theme and even picked out the perfect gift: Chicken Dance Elmo, cuz the kiddo loves to groove. So what happened? She took one look at Stitch and that was it; she declared it the party vibe! No room for discussion—out with Elmo, in with Experiment 626!
Honestly, it turned out to be a great decision. The party is going to be a delightful mix of chaos and cuteness—all completely handmade, just like her personality!
Here’s the fun stuff we’ve planned:
- A giant Stitch keychain backdrop made from pool noodles. Yep, you read that right—pool noodles! Pinterest, watch out!
- A jumper for the older kids to bounce around in and release all that sugary energy.
- Cupcakes are super simple—just blue frosting and Stitch toppers. No red icing disasters this time!
- For centerpieces, we’ve made some lovely paper lanterns. We’re crafty and budget-savvy!
It’s going to be adorable and, let’s be honest, pretty loud too!
I’m still figuring out what to get her. I had my heart set on Chicken Dance Elmo, but now I find myself meandering through Five Below like a slightly bewildered aunt! Thankfully, Eren is still young enough that she’ll be thrilled with a bubble wand or a glittery slap bracelet. We just moved past the “the box is more fun than the gift” phase, and I have to admit, I kind of miss it. Back then, she was this sweet, quiet little potato with a bow.
Now, she’s a full-on toddler tornado in a tutu! And I wouldn’t have it any other way—even when she’s shouting “NOOOOO” like it’s her damn job.
So here’s to our little Eren: the queen of joyful chaos, Stitch’s number one fan, and the reason we’re throwing this DIY party! Whether she ends up with a dancing Elmo, a fun little treasure from the dollar store, or a giant stuffed Stitch to cuddle, she’ll be surrounded by love, sweetness, and a whole lot of blue frosting!
