My Disney Kitchen

What was your first ever videogame?

My first ever video game was called My Disney Kitchen but I called it Mickey’s Kitchen. I was only FOUR years old, and honestly, looking back, it might’ve been one of the most pointless games ever made… but to little me, it was EVERYTHING.

I have so many random childhood memories tied to this game, and the funniest part is that I can STILL sing the entire main theme song from start to finish to this day. Like, why is that information permanently stored in my brain, but I can’t remember what I walked into a room for?

I used to take my job as a chef SO seriously, making the biggest, most ridiculous meals imaginable, stacking up all the food like I was running a five-star restaurant, just for Mickey and Minnie to come along, eat ONE plate, and leave. LIKE HELLO??? I JUST SPENT ALL THAT TIME COOKING FOR YOU TWO AND THAT’S ALL YOU’RE GONNA EAT?!

And yet, I would happily sit there and do it all over again. There was just something so comforting about those old childhood games. No complicated storylines, no intense missions, no stress, no pressure to be good at anything. Just me, my little virtual kitchen, and the absolute joy of making food for two cartoon mice who clearly had no appreciation for my culinary skills.

It’s crazy how a game that seemed so simple back then can bring back so many memories now. The nostalgia is REAL. Tell me I’m not the only one who remembers this game, because I refuse to believe I was out here running a virtual restaurant all by myself.

PLEASE tell me what your first ever video game was, because I KNOW some of you have some childhood gaming memories that will unlock a whole different part of your brain.
