Yes, the games technically started yesterday, but for me, football season started today because today was the first game for my 49ers. That’s when it really feels like the season has begun.
Also, I have to say: I think the 49ers Disney collaboration is the only one that actually makes perfect sense. Because Stinky Pete is a 49er!
And apparently, a lot of people don’t realize why. Stinky Pete is a gold miner, and a “49er” refers to the people who rushed to California in 1849 during the Gold Rush. So having a gold miner representing the 49ers? Honestly, that’s pretty spot-on.
So yes, everyone else can say football season started yesterday. But in my world, it officially started today. The 49ers have taken the field, and now we’re ready for football!
