It’s officially August, which means I’m officially in baby shower countdown mode. Only 15 days to go!
Since I’m currently in Las Vegas, I’ve gotten so many questions from family asking if the baby shower is still happening in California. And I’m just… why wouldn’t it be? 😂 I’ve been posting about getting my mom’s outfit ready, planning makeup, renting the venue, and all the little details. If anything had changed, trust me, you all would know. I’m such a perfectionist that I would have made at least three posts about it by now.
Now that my little rant is over…
I’m honestly getting so nervous about how everything is going to come together. So far, nobody has RSVP’d, which definitely isn’t helping my anxiety. I’ll be heading back to California on the 8th so I have a full week to finish preparing, grab any last-minute items, organize the food, and hopefully make sure everything runs smoothly.
As stressful as it feels, I know this is just the beginning. I’ve got years of birthday parties, school events, and celebrations ahead of me before this little girl decides she’s too cool for family parties. I think I was around 10 or 11 when I stopped wanting big birthday parties and just wanted to go to the skating rink with my friends instead.
It also helps that she’ll have a fall birthday. My birthdays were always in cold, rainy February, so outdoor parties were basically never an option. She’ll (hopefully) get that beautiful fall weather where picnics, parks, and backyard parties are actually possible.
I think I’ve shared the theme before, but we’re doing Winnie the Pooh with “A Little Honey Is on the Way.” Think bees, lots of yellow, honey pots, cute games, and all the cozy Hundred Acre Wood vibes. I cannot wait to see it all come together.
I’m probably going to laugh so much that I’ll get myself I’m going into early labor—which is obviously a joke. 😅 I’ll only be 33 weeks at the baby shower, so she needs to stay put a little longer.
I’m just hoping it’s a fun, relaxing day where we get to celebrate this little girl before life gets a whole lot busier.
