Plot Twists, Popcorn Buckets & Us — 2026 Edition

Going to the movies with Hector isn’t just a date anymore—it’s our ritual. Our reset. The one place where time slows down and the only real choice is popcorn, candy, or both (always both).

This year feels extra exciting because we actually sat down and made a list—almost 30 movies we want to see in theaters. Thirty! Some are big, hyped releases we’ve been counting down to, others are quieter picks we’re just genuinely curious about. Either way, the goal is the same: show up, be present, and let the theater do its thing.

We’re still firm believers that the movie itself deserves respect—phones away, lights down, no mid-film photos. The fun happens before and after: scanning the snack menu, watching trailers like they’re a mini event, and debriefing in the car on the way home like we’re professional critics (we are not, but that won’t stop us).

Whether we make it through the whole list or just our favorites, 2026 already feels like a year full of shared stories, cozy seats, and memories made in the dark. Below is our ever-growing watch list, and I can’t wait to see how many of these make it from “must see” to “remember when we watched that?” 🍿✨
