So… I’ve been crying a lot lately. I mean full-blown, ugly crying over things that honestly sound kind of dumb when I say them out loud — like not being where I thought I’d be in life by now.
I thought I’d be a mom. I thought I’d have the cozy little love story my parents had — matching pajamas, bedtime routines, packed lunches, holiday traditions, the whole thing. Instead, I feel like I keep giving up on my dreams before they start, because if I never try, then I never fail, right?
I’m tired, like my Soul is tired. I’m Overstimulated and underinspired. I’m doing everything and nothing at the same time. And somewhere along the line, I stopped believing that things do get better. I hate saying that because this blog has always been my little digital diary of “things are tough but they’re worth it,” and now I feel like I’m lying if I say that out loud.
So here it is: I’m taking a break. A real, no-halfway, unplugged, social media detox kind of break.
I need to check out and tune in. To myself. To my dreams. To what I actually want. Not just school. Not just family. Not just what everyone else thinks my life should look like. But me. Just… me.
And here’s the scary part: I used to only dream about being a wife and a mom. That was it. That was the endgame. I didn’t care what job I had because I thought my “real” purpose was in a home, with a husband, with babies. But lately… I’ve started dreaming about a career. About building something. About waking up and working on something that’s mine. I think I’m actually okay if that means my life looks different than I thought it would.
Also — let’s clear this up real quick before anyone starts spinning stories: Hector and I are still together. No breakup. BUT, I don’t think I’ll be posting any more wedding updates for now. We’re figuring stuff out. We’re just two people trying to navigate life in the messiest, most human way possible. And that’s okay.
So yeah. This is your gentle, glittery PSA: I may not be on this blog for a while. It’s honestly where I spend most of my time, so stepping away from here is part of the detox. I love this little space I’ve built — it’s soft and safe and pink and mine — but I need to take care of the me behind the posts, too.
If you’re still reading this, thank you. For being here. For seeing me. For letting me be messy and honest and human.
I’ll be back when I’m ready. Until then, take care of yourself the way you wish someone else would. That’s what I’m trying to do too. 💕
Self care is important. I hope you discover some stuff while on break. ❤️
