i also loved look both ways on netflix. kinda like a modern take on the same idea. soft, surprising, and left me thinking way too long about all the versions of me that could’ve existed.
in this version of the timeline, i’m figuring it out. minimum wage job. school that started later than planned. writing blog posts instead of bestselling novels (yet). i’m doing what i can, but yeah, some days are heavy. this isn’t where i thought i’d be by now.
but somewhere, in another life?
she got the head start.
she went straight to college, became the kind of teacher who smells like tea and paperbacks. she writes too—books that maybe don’t break records, but break open someone’s heart in the best way.
she lives in a cozy home with a kitchen nook and bay window. her kids draw beside her while she types away. her life isn’t perfect, but it’s full. it’s hers.
and the thing is… i don’t envy her. i’m cheering for her.
and maybe writing this is one small way i inch closer to her.
