Blogging isn’t all glamorous. For me, the hardest part hasn’t been the lack of ideas or even getting the views—it’s the behind-the-scenes work that feels like it’s never enough.
The Time Sink: Canva and Descriptions
Creating the perfect visuals for my posts in Canva often eats up hours, because I overthink everything. It’s fun, but when only a handful of people see it, it can feel discouraging. Then there’s the challenge of writing unique descriptions for each post, which takes serious effort to make sure they resonate, even when the return feels minimal.
The Struggle with Consistency
Blogging requires constant effort, and staying consistent is tough. Writing consistently in both frequency and quality is my biggest enemy. Because if I’m honest, trying to keep a steady flow of new posts, images, and social media updates, is exhausting and it often feels like I’m not making much progress. I want to put out content that if i was a reader would enjoy, not just post to stay relevant.
The Temptation to Overuse AI
While AI helps with the writing process, I often struggle to find the balance between streamlining content and maintaining my own unique voice. It’s a temptation to lean on AI too much, but I know that’s not the way to truly connect with readers. As of right now it’s great to generate ideas, titles and help me make outlines and posting schedules. But what else can it do for me? And am I ready to rely on AI to share my story and my voice? Absolutely not!
Pinterest and the TikTok Dilemma
Social media has been a major challenge for me. I’m okay at promoting on Facebook and Instagram, but Pinterest feels like a time-sucking puzzle. The algorithms are unpredictable, and creating fresh pins is always a grind. Plus, I haven’t jumped into TikTok fully—it’s a whole new world of content creation that I haven’t embraced.
The Reality Check
Despite all these challenges, I’m not ready to throw in the towel just yet. In fact, every time I get that little ping telling me someone viewed my post, commented, or shared something I wrote, it makes all the time spent behind the scenes worth it.
At the end of the day, blogging isn’t about overnight success—it’s about the journey. And while that journey is definitely filled with tough moments, it’s also filled with small victories, like watching your community grow or hearing from readers who appreciate what you’ve created.
