I’ve talked about this before; I’m mixed. I’m very light-skinned, so to white people, I am racially ambiguous, which means they know I’m not white, but they don’t know what I am, and to everyone else, I look white.
So here comes the controversial part: I want to get really cute braids, but I feel like it’s gonna make me look like the Kardashians when they had box braids
Is it still Cultural appropriation when it’s my culture?
Baby, you can get braids whenever you want regardless of culture. Don’t let anyone stop you. If it makes you happy, then do it.
