The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly: My Life Lately

Okay, I know I don’t usually post three times in one day—unless I’m spiraling—but I just wanted to give a little update. A lot is happening, so let’s break it down: the good, the bad, and the ugly.

The good: We bought a car!! If you missed my Instagram post from last night, we actually found it on Facebook of all places. Honestly, the whole time I was convinced it was a scam. I even texted Hector like, “This guy feels very scammy” before we met up, because his messages kept changing—first he said “available anytime after 7,” then switched it to “I’m still at work, won’t be off until 7:30.” Hector didn’t think anything of it, but me? I don’t trust people online. Turns out, he ended up being the sweetest guy ever.

The bad: Hector still can’t go to work. He got hired for a job right around the time of the car accident, and the company has been super understanding. But because he’s on certain meds (some type of narco), he can’t legally drive for them. It keeps showing up on the drug tests, and their contract specifically says drivers can’t be on certain meds—even with a doctor’s note. It’s been a month, and Hector still has back pain. He just had a follow-up appointment and they’re switching his meds, so hopefully that helps. But now he has to see a chiropractor and start physical therapy since the pain is all around his spine. (Cue me back on Doctor Google like, “What even is physical therapy for your back??”) On the upside: his kidney tests came back normal, so no more “pee in the urine” issues.

The ugly: We might have to start a lawsuit. Which feels like the most adulting thing me and Hector have ever had to do. I’m trying to focus on the bright side—he’s here, he’s alive, and that’s what really matters. But still, it’s stressful. I’m considering getting a second job just to keep bills covered, though I don’t know what that’ll mean for school. One thing at a time, right? Was this how I pictured 2025 going? Nope. Is this the kind of stress I wanted this close to the wedding? Also nope. And before anyone says, “Why don’t you reschedule?”—absolutely not. It’s a small wedding that’s basically just a Halloween party, and why would I cancel that?

Bonus chaos (not really an update): I made a TikTok about Taylor Swift and it got like 1,000 views… which apparently was enough for people to get mad. I got five whole DMs about how I’m “not a real Swiftie” and all this nonsense. So yeah, I guess this was my first time getting “cancelled” and honestly? Kind of iconic.
